Glassonby Festival 2018 Entertainment:

The festival is an opportunity to spend a fun filled weekend in rural Cumbria. The festival site will play host to many children and parent supervised activities, some wonderful live music, a children’s entertainer, great food, beer, cocktails and more. Included in your Early Bird ticket price are two camping areas, secure parking, 24 hour bathroom facilities and access to all the activities, music and festival fun. The secure camping and parking areas are very close to the main festival site only a couple of minutes away from the main stage area. Day tickets are also available for Friday and Saturday, with the option of camping or no camping.

Activities for both little & “big kids”. .
Sit back as your kids have the time of their lives. Our festival site is full to bursting with lots of great fun activities like: bouncy castles, zorb football, uni-hock, sumo suits, slack lines, coconut shy, soft play zone, hot-tub and much, much more.

Monster Ceilidh Band (Sat)
We’re delighted to welcome the Monster Ceilidh Band who seamlessly blend electronic dance music with traditional folk music and manage to encourage diverse audiences from all over the world to get up and party! Their pioneering mix of Drum ‘n Bass with Traditional Folk has been endorsed by outstanding live performances at award-winning festivals such as Bestival and Secret Garden Party alongside more familiar folk offering such as Sidmouth and Cambridge Folk Festivals.

Chris James & His Band (Fri)
Chris has played music for the last 25 years. On the way, he has supported many of the finest live acts around from John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers, Nine Below Zero, The Hoax and The Nimmo Brothers to acoustic acts such as Clive Gregson, Boo Hewardine, Kristina Olsen, Maddy Prior and Paul Jones. A fantastic live show, especially when he’s joined on stage by Martin Fletcher on harmonica, Finn McCardle on percussion and Paul J White on Bass.

Phil Saunders (Sat)
A simultaneous singer songwriter, guitarist, harmonica player, foot drummer. From laid-back and thought provoking, through to foot stomping dance provoking. Phil, who regularly plays on the streets around the UK always gets a positive response from passers-by, with outbreaks of daytime dancing ….. On stage he talks with the audience, amusing and bemusing them whilst skillfully avoiding requests, and demanding vocal participation.

Squeezebox (Fri)
A popular three piece semi-acoustic band playing a variety of both classic and modern tunes. A combination of great  acoustic guitar playing, tight three piece harmonies and inventive percussion delivers an entertaining big sound. A guaranteed crowd pleaser wherever they play, we’re delighted to have the guys playing the festival.

Rockin Chair Rebels (Sat)
Four rocking Cumbrian “Old-Boys” (yet still younger than most of the Stones) The Rebel’s regularly play local festivals and venues, and are guaranteed to get your feet moving. Playing classic songs from the likes of the Rolling Stones, Oasis, ZZ Top, Beatles, Slade, TRex, The Who and lots more, you’re sure to end up singing and rockin’ along.

More Bands will be announced in the weeks to come, plus a house DJ will also be “spinning-the-decks” during the breaks and long into the night. . .

Laura J (Sat)
Laura J is a wonderful children’s entertainer, her show on Saturday will comprise of a main stage-show with lots of parent and child participation, followed by some one-on-one fun in the crowd with the “young’uns”.

Big Pan Man Catering
Will be onsite with their fabulous horse box catering unit. With wood fired pizza, pastas, wraps, burgers, fries, vegetarian options and much more. Plus they’ll be serving traditional breakfast on Saturday and Sunday morning for those hardy campers.
The Menu: Stone Baked Flatbread Pizza cooked in a stone based pizza oven with various toppings. 4oz Lakeland Burgers, Lakeland Hotdogs, Summer Pasta Dishes made to order, Deli Tortilla Wraps, Skinny Fries, Breakfast, Egg and Bacon Rolls, Tea and Coffee.
